I moved around a lot while growing up. Most of my childhood was spent in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and France before returning to the U.S. to go to college. Change was a constant in my early life. I began my career as a chemist and later moved into international marketing leading me to relocate overseas yet again. I married and started a family only to lose my husband to cancer when my son was just a few years old. As a widowed, single parent I felt a strong need to be present and available for my son, so I made the decision to leave the pressure & schedule of a corporate job behind in favor of education. Today, with my son successfully into adulthood and thriving, I have embraced another change by putting my varied skills to work as a personal life coach! When I am not working I enjoy SCUBA diving, making ceramics, playing guitar, theatre, and volunteering as a teacher and coach on the island of Roatan, Honduras where I spend several months each year.

My Approach & Credentials

I began my working life as scientist but quickly moved to managing brands, people, and projects for a Fortune 500 company. After having my son, I transitioned into education where I have spent over 15 years teaching students and mentoring staff. Each of these roles – scientist, manager, parent, educator – has shaped my approach to coaching.

In 2021 I completed my training as an Associate Certified Academic Life Coach through Coach Training EDU, a highly respected, global coach training organization whose programs are accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). In 2022 I furthered my training by completing the Coach Credential Preparation Course with Merci Miglino, an exceptional coach and coach trainer and mentor with over 20 years of experience. I am also a proud member of the ICF.

I have found that the keys to productive coaching are curiosity and clear & honest feedback shared with understanding and sensitivity.

Other Credentials and Training: B.S. & M.S. in Chemistry; Montessori Teaching Certification (NAMC); Positive Parenting (Amy McCready); Teaching Mindfulness to Children (Omega Institute); Facilitating Grief Support Groups For Youth & Young Adults (The Dougy Center – Summer Institute).
